{"id":11819,"date":"2022-06-28T12:17:50","date_gmt":"2022-06-28T10:17:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/todoreloj.com\/consejos-de-uso-y-cuidado\/"},"modified":"2025-04-24T16:19:09","modified_gmt":"2025-04-24T14:19:09","slug":"tips-for-use-and-care","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/todoreloj.com\/en\/tips-for-use-and-care\/","title":{"rendered":"Tips for use and care"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>Discover how to take care of your watch<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/ajuste-hora.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<h2>How to set the time and date?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>\n<p>Wind the watch if it is stopped.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>\n<p>Push the crown back to the hour position and adjust the hour and minute hands so that they are positioned between 3 and 9 o&#8217;clock.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>\n<p>Push the crown in to the date setting position and rotate it until the calendar is set to the day immediately preceding the desired date.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>\n<p>Push the crown in to the hours setting position and turn it as many times as necessary to obtain the exact date desired (if step 3 has been completed, it is sufficient to move the hour hand 1 or 2 times through the 12 o&#8217;clock position), then set the correct time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>\n<p>Return the crown to its normal position.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>\n<p>The mechanism that drives the automatic date change in mechanical watches is complicated and usually takes about 4 hours to complete. Setting the date manually while the automatic date change mechanism is running can cause damage to the watch mechanism, which is why it is recommended to set the watch hands between 3 and 9 o&#8217;clock. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Watertightness of my watch<\/h2>\n<div>\n<p>When the time or calendar is not being adjusted, the crown should be in its normal position (attached to the watch case). In watches with a screw-down crown, when the functions of the watch are not being reset, the crown must always be screwed down. The same should be done with the chronograph pushers if they are also screwed down and the chronograph is not being used.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>The chronograph pushers should NEVER be operated under water.<\/strong>  It is advisable to rinse the watch in fresh water after use at sea. In this way, the movement receives the necessary energy to advance and continue winding until it reaches its maximum charge. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>        <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/reloj-1.png\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<h3>Rope mechanisms<\/h3>\n<div>\n<p>It is advisable to wind the watch once a day, and always gently, until the spring of the barrel becomes taut and the crown locks. En los relojes que lleven corona a rosca, cuando no se est\\u00e9 reajustando las funciones del reloj, esta tiene que estar siempre enroscada. Lo mismo debe hacerse con los pulsadores del cron\\u00f3grafo si estos tambi\\u00e9n van a rosca y no se est\\u00e1 usando el cron\\u00f3grafo.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p><strong>NUNCA deben accionarse los pulsadores del cron\\u00f3grafo bajo el agua.<\\\/strong> Es recomendable enjuagar el reloj en agua dulce despu\\u00e9s de haberse usado en el mar.
